Install with a dedicated expansion clamp, with the ring opening gap offset by 120°.
Check the side clearance (0.08-0.12mm) and back clearance (0.3-0.5mm). If they exceed the tolerance, the cylinder liner needs to be replaced.
Common Fault avoidance
Abnormal consumption of engine oil: It indicates insufficient tension of the oil ring or out-of-round cylinder liner. The wear of the ring groove needs to be checked.
Insufficient cylinder pressure: The top ring seal fails or gets stuck due to carbon deposits. It is recommended to clean the carbon slag in the ring groove regularly.
